General Species Description: Reproduction Comments: Eggs are laid in December-January. Clutch size is 1. Incubation, by both sexes, lasts 39-48 days; change-over at intervals of about 2 days. Young are fed by both parents at night, first flies at 52 days or much later. Departs nesting area in April. Socially and genetically monogamous (Quillfeldt et al. 2001).
